BJP Legislature Party leader and former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi on Thursday said that the present Government is misleading people on fund expenditure of State budget. He said the present government kept on crying on non-cooperation from the Centre in releasing funds during the corona pandemic, but today the government is once again misleading people by claiming that the Government has spent more than 80 per cent of budget allocation.
Targeting the present government, Marandi said expenditure of budgetary allocation can be understood when there is some developmental work, but in present government no developmental works has been carried out.
He further said that in the past one year neither any new road projects have commenced nor have any new hospitals been constructed. “The present government has failed in setting up any industries, providing jobs to unemployed youths,” he said. Marandi targeted JMM/Congress government for the pitiable condition of farmers, labourers and other sections of society.
The former Chief Minister dared the Chief Minister and Finance Minister to disclose facts about 80 per cent of budgetary expenditure. He said when he was chief minister works of Rs 3000 crore were visible in the State, but today no work is visible when the State budget is Rs 80,000 crore. He said that during the tenure of former chief minister three medical colleges were opened in the State but due to lack of proper infrastructure there was no MBBS admission in these medical colleges.
Marandi said that the State government was promoting the loot of mineral resources and corruption had gone up in the state. Marandi also said that in the Madhupur by-poll Tamar episode will be repeated. Marandi addressing the media persons at the party office said, “In Tamar by poll then Chief Minister Shibu Soren and his entire cabinet had to resign after he suffered defeat in the hands of opposition candidates. In Madhupur by-poll too, State minority affairs minister Hafizul Hasan, who is presently not a member of Assembly has to resign from his post once he loses Madhupur by-poll.”
In January 2009, then Chief Minister Shibu Soren lost the bye-election to Tamar Assembly seat to Jharkhand Party candidate Gopal Krishna Patar, aka Raja Peter by a margin of 9,062 votes. The defeat cost Soren Jharkhand chief minister’s seat.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren eyeing minority and sympathy votes in February this year made Hafizul Hassan, elder son of JMM minister Haji Hussain Ansari, who died last year as a minister in his cabinet.
The BJP leader also targeted JMM/Congress government saying that the government has lost grip on administration as a police officer dares to call three time MP from Godda Nishikant Dubey asking him to come for interrogation. He said that the police attitude suggests that Jharkhand police are acting on the lines of Maharashtra police, the officials here are acting at the behest of the government exceeding their constitutional limits.
