BJP attacks Govt for crime against women

Published on:

BJP State president cum MP Deepak Prakash today made a strong attack on the Hemant Soren led government. He blamed the Chief Minister directly for the poor law and order situation in the state and the increasing incidents of rape of women.

Prakash said that the increasing incidents of rape of women in the state have brought shame to Jharkhand across the country. The State has made a record in the incidents of rape of sisters and daughters. According to the government data, in the last 33 months, an average of 5 rape incidents has happened every day in the State.

Prakash said that now sisters and daughters are not safe even in their homes. Two months ago, Ankita of Dumka was burnt while sleeping in her house by spraying petrol. And, a similar incident happened with Jarmundi's daughter last night. He said that in this government, now the police personnel who have the responsibility of protecting the public are also committing rape incidents.

Prakash said that the people of the state have never felt such a dreadful situation. He said that the policies of the government are responsible for all these incidents.

The apathy of the government on serious incidents is also a matter of concern, he said. Be it the incident that happened with Ankita in Dumka or the incident of Jarmundi last night, this government has completely failed in the readiness and arrangements the state should have made.
