BJP, AJSU Party show united face ahead of bypolls

Published on:

After facing a poll debacle in the last Assembly election, where BJP and AJSU party fought separately, the two parties today showed a united face ahead of Bermo and Dumka bye-elections. Elder brother BJP has put up candidates from both the seats, while younger brother AJSU party unlike last year has decided to back BJP candidates in both the seats.

The NDA leaders today held a press conference at AJSU party office attended by BJP legislative party leader Babulal Marandi, State BJP president Deepak Prakash, AJSU party supremo Sudesh Mahto, AJSU MP Chandraprakash Choudhary and BJP candidate from Bermo Yogeshwar Mahto ‘Batul’, the leaders from both the parties reiterated that NDA is intact and united in bypoll and will remain intact in future too.

The NDA leaders on the occasion minced no words in lambasting Hemant Soren Government and Mahagathbandhan.

Targeting the Hemant Soren government, Marandi said, “The condition of Jharkhand after the Soren government came to power has worsened. The CM talks about creating employment avenues for youth, but he himself is busy on transfer posting of bureaucrats. Middlemen and brokers are running the government in the State. There is loot in coal, stone and sand mining activities. The process for uprooting this Government will start with a bypoll defeat of JMM and Congress parties.”

AJSU party Chief Sudesh Mahto slamming the JMM-Congress alliance said that these parties have a history of cheating poor.

Mahto said, “For votes these two parties try to befool people with false promises. AJSU party will stand behind BJP with full force in victory of BJP candidates from these two seats.”

Echoing the views of these two leaders, State BJP president and Rajya Sabha member Deepak Prakash said that AJSU and BJP has remained partners from Jharkhand movement till date, while the JMM and Congress leadership were not behind in even making a deal in name of Jharkhand movement. Prakash said, “This election is between dynastic politics and democracy. Worsening law and order, rise in crime incidents, rape murder especially against tribals will be poll issue in the election.”

The NDA poll bugle for the Assembly election was sounded from AJSU party office. In the bypoll, the saffron party is not only successful in keeping intact its old partner AJSU but JDU, LJP and JMM (Ulgulan) too have decided to back BJP candidates.

The BJP central committee on Sunday declared candidates for Dumka and Bermo Assembly seats for the election which will be held in November. From Dumka, the party has fielded former minister Louis Marandi against Basant Soren, younger brother of Chief Minister. While from Bermo, the party has decided to try luck on Yogeshwar Mahto Batul going by the caste demography of the region.

The election for these two seats will be held on November 3, while counting of votes will be done on November 10.
