BJP’s bigwigs to attend Modi’s oath event

Newly elected Lok Sabha MPs of the State, along with senior office bearers of State BJP, will attend the swearing in ceremony of Prime Minister designate Narendra Modi and his council of Ministers at Rashtrapati Bhawan in Delhi on Thursday.  Chief Minister Raghubar Das, along with State Cabinet Ministers, will also attend the ceremony.

According to State BJP officials over hundred people from Jharkhand will attend the ceremony including Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha MPs, CM and State ministers, State BJP president Laxman Gilua, Organisational Secretary Dharmpal, seven vice presidents, three general secretaries, seven spokespersons, 14 Lok Sabha in-charges, 14 Lok Sabha Vistaraks, all district presidents of the party and chairpersons of boards, corporations.

While a number of people have already left for Delhi, Chief Minister and some MPs and officer bearers will leave for Delhi to attend the ceremony tomorrow.

Although there is no information on the number of MPs to be inducted in the Modi Cabinet, names of former Union Ministers Jayant Sinha and Sudarshan Bhagat along with former Chief Minister Arjun Munda are doing the rounds in the State politics. Jayant Sinha was Minister of State for Civil Aviation, while Sudarshan Bhagat was Minister of State for Tribal Affairs in the previous government.

A close aide of Bhagat said that the MP has no lust for ministerial post and is ready to take whatever responsibility the party gives him. However, he said that the people of Lohardaga constituency have kept their fingers crossed to see their elected MP being inducted in the new council of ministers.

Notably, former MoS Jayant Sinha is said to be one of the choices of the BJP high command as his performance in the previous government was admired by many in the decision making lot. However, former BJP leader Yashawant Sinha’s stand against BJP’s top leadership seems to be a huge hurdle in his way.

Three-time CM of Jharkhand Arjun Munda is also an experienced leader, who could be inducted in the Modi government. Munda has also remained an MP from Jamshedpur and has worked for the organisation for many years. Munda met CM Raghubar Das before leaving for Delhi on Wednesday, where the two senior leaders exchanged greetings with each other.
