The teachers of the BIT Sindri have opposed attempts to make the institution an autonomous body .
Amar Prakash secretary of the BIT Sindri Teachers Association( BIT TA) while expressing concern said that the move would adversely affect the education of meritorious students hailing ST, SC and OBC communities of state as autonomy would lead directly to hike in education fee.
BIT is the only engineering college in the government sector in Jharkhand .
