Bishop Niranjan Ekka, who was also the father of Municipal Council Chairperson Pawan Ekka, took his last breath on Sunday afternoon.
His last rites were organised at the cemetery of lutheran ground. He was ill for over one month and was being treated at Orchid hospital Ranchi.
Ekka was born on 25th July 1932 in Tikapani village, Raidih Panchayat, Gumla. He rendered his services at lutheran school for a long period. He was social person and left his wife and whole family behind him.
On his death many persons consoled the grief stricken family. Those included AJSU supreme Sudesh Mahto, Minister Chandra Prakash Choudhary, Dr Deosharan Bhagat, Suraj Agarwal, Kanwaljeet Singh, JPCC head Sukhdeo Bhagat, ex MlA Bandhu Tirkey and many persons from political and social backgrounds.
