From a famous muscleman to a politician and JD(U) MlA from Maharajganj constituency (Bihar), Damodar Singh, took his last breath at his residence in Koderma on Thursday. He is said to have suffered a massive cardiac arrest on Thursday morning following which he was taken to the local hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead.
A native of Maharajganj, Singh, began his political career as an independent candidate in 1977 in the Assembly election and lost. Having distinction of being Paharpur Pramukh for 20 long years, he finally reached Bihar Vidhan Sabha in 2004 on JD-U ticket. It was his third consecutive term as the legislator. People organised a funeral procession in the town and finally took the body to Patna Vidhan Sabha. last rites to be done at his native place Maharajganj.
Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, State Minister Annapurna Devi and Chairman District Board Mahesh Ray expressed their grief over sudden demise of the leader.
