HEC supplied 20/5T span 33.5m EOT Crane was successfully commissioned in the upcoming Bar & Rod Mill (BRM) at Bhilai Steel Plant, Bhilai. The Crane has been in-house manufactured by HEC with only electric items and DSl as the bought-out components.
This Crane is the first (1st) equipment commissioned in the upcoming BRM under 7MT expansion programme of BSP. At present, the crane will be used for equipment erection and when the Mill would be commissioned, it shall be used as Service Crane. The Crane was inaugurated by S.K.Pradhan (ED, Projects/BSP); the moments have been shared by senior HEC officers at Bhilai site.
The project was executed by HEC on turnkey basis under the guidance of BSP team and MECON as consultant. The Crane involves 150 T of fabrication including mechanical assemblies, electrical control panels, drives etc. The scope for HEC included design, engineering, manufacturing, erection, testing & commissioning. The crane commissioned is part of the order received by HEC for supply, erection & commissioning of 38 Nos. of cranes in one package.
