The team of vernacular daily Dainik Bhaskar( DB) lifted the Media cup cricket trophy organised by Dhanbad Press Club(DPC) defeating team of daily Aawaz by 20 runs in a thrilling final match played at Railway stadium today.
Incidentally, the team of Aawaz lifted most of the individual trophies and cash awards besides runners up trophy.
Sarfaraz Nawaz of Aawaz was declared man of the match for his brilliant 77 runs (notout ) knock chasing the target of 148 runs set by the DB.
Though DB won the tournament played between eight teams of media houses and members of the DPC most of the individual trophies including man of the match of different knockout matches , man of the series and best player were won by the runners team.
Captain of Aawaz Amit Sinha was declared man of the series for his performance in the tournament . HE also won three individual prizes in this tournament.
President of the Jharkhand State Cricket Association Dr Nafees Akther and senior SP of Dhanbad Sanjeev Kumar gave away prizes to the winner and runner up teams respectively.
Several dignitaries and sponsores too were present to witness the final match who gave away individual prizes . All office bearers of the DPC were present during play and award ceremony.
