Betla National Park tigress does vanishing trick?

Officials of the Palamau Tiger Reserve kept their fingers crossed following the ‘vanishing trick’ that a tigress, the beauty of the Betla National Park, has been playing over the past eight weeks, said sources. As per information, the tigress is simply out of sight. No pug mark of it has been found in these weeks nor is there any sign of death by the officials.

The tigress is in the habit of doing vanishing tricks earlier also. However, its sudden and abrupt going into exile from the Betla National Park adds to the worry and tension of the Tiger Reserve officials as fears of fatality to it makes the officials restive and anxiety ridden.

The DFO core Premjit Anand admitted that this tigress continued to elude its officials in these 8 or more weeks with no pug marks found or kill discovered. However Anand praying well for this tigress, said “She will come back as she did in the past here.” Fear of any harm to it does worry him, he admitted.

The tiger trackers are on the job to discover either a kill or its pug marks but in vain. Sources said there was a report of pug mark discovered in a non tiger reserve area Kumandi in latehar district. Hopes are pinned that it could be of this tigress but the gender of the pug mark is yet to be established. As rain is lashing at PTR finding a pug mark on soft soil is a difficult task.
