The biting cold wave was no deterrent to the people of coal and Mica city who came out in large numbers to ring in the New Year on Thursday.

The famous Tenughat dam, Rajrappa temple, Ganti nala, Hathiyaphar, Chanderpura river site, DVC guest house and lalpania fall in Bermo while Parasnath hill ,Topchachi,Usari fall in Giridih ,,about 30 km from the Giridih town also attracted huge crowds . Police had made elaborate arrangements to tackle any law and order problem during the New year’s celebrations.
