The DVC and local district administration had made elaborate security arrangements for the 66th Independence celebrations scheduled for Thursday. Stastic police forces at strategic locations besides patrolling on jeeps and by local police stations personnel have pressed into service.
Extra arrangements were made at Bokaro Thermal, Tenughat and Chanderpura being sensitive places. Celebration started with prabhat- pheri by Government school children, followed by flag hoisting, march past. At Tenughat, the Independence Day was celebrated by organising a central prabhat – pheri at Children park ground, Shrimati Anita Sahay, civil SDO hoisted the national flag. Civil SDO, Anita Sahay. In BTPS, CTPS, Kargali, chief engineer and project head, G.P. Singh, S.K. Chaterjee and GM, CCl Anurag Kumar hoisted the national flag and took salute of CISF and DVC school childrens. At RamRatan High School, Dhori -4 number, union office and five other places, Minister of State Rajendra Prasad Singh unfurled the national flag.
