The Bermo bandh on Monday was effective for the demand of making Bermo a district.  The leaders and workers of "Bermo District Banao Sangharsh Samiti" took to the streets in the morning and were busy in making the bandh a success.

The agitators remained stuck for a long time at turn four Tenughat, Gomia, Petarwar and Bermo.  At Petarwar Chowk, Gomia MLA Lambodar Mahato, committee co-coordinator Kuldeep Prajapati, Rakesh Kumar, General Secretary of Advocates Association in Tenughat, Advocate Prasad Mahato, and former ZIP member Aftab Alam in Bermo held the front.

People of Sangharsh Samiti staged a protest on the road in support of the bandh by burning tires at Gomia Chowk. Due to this, the main road from Gomia to Hazaribagh, Petarwar and Phusro got jammed. There was a queue of vehicles on the road.

At the same time, shopkeepers in Gomia, Swang, Hazaribagh Mod, Sadam and Hosir Chowk kept their shops closed.  Zip President Sunita Devi and District President of BJP OBC Morcha Chittaranjan Sao, Committee's Mithun Chandravanshi, Vipin Kumar, Vinod Yadav and others participated in the protest.

Under the leadership of displaced leader Naresh Prajapati, the workers stopped coal transportation between Loha bridge and Chilka bridge in Govindpur phase-II.

Sources  said that at 1 pm, Gomia CO Pradeep Kumar Mahato reached Gomia Chowk and cleared the jam by talking to the bandh supporters. In support of the bandh, advocates associated with Advocates Association Tenughat kept themselves away from judicial work.

General Secretary of the union, Advocate Prasad Mahato, ZIP member Mala Kumari, Tenughat head Neelam Srivastava, Sadam head Shobha Devi, Rahmatun Nishan, Vidyanand Prasad, Surendra Yadav, Vicky Jain etc. have called the bandh successful.
