A student persuing BEd from St Columba's College has alleged its Principal Sushil Kumar Toppo of eve-teasing. She had said that the Principal used to tease her regularly and one day he had even threw a flower on her.
When the matter came into light, the district Congress President took it seriously and met VC RN Bhagat. He along with other Congressmen demanded strong action against the Principal. VC assured them that the university administration will inquire the matter and if found guilty, Toppo will be punished. VC Bhagat has transferred this matter to the disciplinary committee of the university.
On the other hand, Principal Toppo is denying everything. He said that the student who is blaming him was admitted at JJ College, Jhumri Tillaiya and on special permission of university administration she was attending classes at St. Columba's College. At the time of examination form filling he refused to accept her form and the matter is pending before university administration. Toppo said that it is a conspiracy of those people who do not like his disciplinary actions taken during my tenure to restore the pride of this century old college.
Meanwhile, student organizations ABVP, NSUI and others have also taken the matter seriously and have demanded quick and transparent action from the university administration. They have warned the university administration to not try to suppress the matter otherwise they will start a massive agitation on this matter.
