The BBMKU went headless after acting VC retired on January 31.
Incidentally, the post of pro vice Chancellor too has been vacant for several months in the university.
The acting VC Kamal Jhon Lakra by virtue of being divisional commissioner had taken charge of VC following retirement of regular VC Anjani Kr Srivastava who had retired on August 31/ 2021.
Lakra too retired on the last day of January but even after 24 hours the government has not notified any fresh appointment on the post .
The post of pro VC fell vacant on May 31/ 2021 flowing superannuation of Dr AK Mahto and still is vacant.
The university has a regular registrar as the one appointed by the JPSC is on long leave.
The absence of top administrators of university is hampering the day to day operation as well as important decisions including announcement of fresh dates of different examinations that were postponed due to covid restrictions.
Notably, the search committee set up by the government for appointment of VCs of different universities of State has already recommended a panel consisting of names but appointment remains pending.
