Binod Behari Mahto Koylanchal University ( BBMKU) is all set to hold its first convocation on July 22.
The university was established four years ago. Carved out from Vinoba Bhave University ( VBU) in 2017, it would be the first but virtual convocation of the BBMKU in which chancellor Ramesh Vaish à nd chief minister Hemant Soren would participate virtually from the state capital. Both would address students virtually during the convocation.
The main function is to be held at CIMFR auditorium during which 51gold medalists of different departments would be given away the medals and rest graduates and post graduates would be handed over degrees at respective institutions.
Full dress rehearsal of the concocational parade was held on Monday in which VC AK Srivastava, registrar MK Singh, MLA Raj Sinha besides top functionaries of the University and teachers took part. This would be shown during the convocation day .
Most interesting part of the convocation is the convocation dress . Both the dignitaries as well as recipients would wear Gandhi cap instead of the traditional square convocational cap. Specially bandi with the logo of University has also been provided to those who would relieve gold medals during the convocation.
Dhanbad MLA Raj Sinha who participated in the dress rehearsal said , “It was like a dream come true as it was I who had suggested to name the University after the legendary leader Binod Behari Mahto who fought for creation of Jharkhand”.
