The recognition of Ranchi Veterinary and Animal Husbandry College has been questioned due to lack of regular teachers for decades. The college is rich in infrastructure. The Veterinary Council of India (BHI) had expressed concern over the shortage of regular teachers, conditionally the last time it was recognized. Recently, Jharkhand Public Service Commission has made regular appointments on 8 posts. There is an acute shortage of associate professors and university professors in the departments of the college. Due to the non-completion of the address of BhiCI, this college has not been recognized by ICAR.

BAU Vice Chancellor (VC), Dr Onkar Nath Singh expressed happiness over the recognition of BAU from ICAR for the next 5 years. He said that the peer review team constituted from ICAR has evaluated the programs and colleges of BAU according to the self study report till March 2021. “The university has achieved many achievements at the national level since April 2021. Cooperation with the state government and the Jharkhand Public Service Commission has accelerated. Regular Associate Dean, Assistant Professor and staff have not been appointed in all the 7 new colleges even in the last 5 years. Even in old colleges, there is a shortage of regular deans, assistant professors, associate professors and university professors and staff. Necessary action is being taken by the university as per the suggestions of the peer review team. To maintain the dignity of the only agricultural university in the state, the university expects special efforts and cooperation at all levels. We hope that the new colleges of the university will get recognition soon,” he added.
