Battered JVM switches to election mode

Battered by turncoats the Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (JVM) has decided to switch in elections mode early and cover up the lost ground after five MlAs shunned the party to join the Bhartiya Janta Party.

During the two-day meeting of executive body the party brainstormed ways to mitigate the loss caused by the dissenting MlAs.  As many as five MlAs of the party have joined the saffron brigade reducing the overall strength of the party to almost half in the Jharkhand Assembly.

“We will blow the bugle for election on August 9. Parivartan rally will be organised at all district headquarters and divisional headquarters from this date onwards. We will endeavour to make the State free of fear, corruption and will take it on the path of development,” said party leader Pradeep Yadav.

The party’s executive body has decided to project party chief Babulal Marandi as the party’s face for the post of Chief Minister if it comes to power whereas it is still in dilemma to strike a pre-election deal with other parties.

“Our slogan is ‘kaho dil se Babulal phir se’. As far as coalition is concerned some workers are in favour of forming alliance whereas others believe that the party should go alone in the election. But final decision will be taken by Babulal ji,” added the Poryahat MlA.

Meanwhile, the senior JVM leader sought to downplay impact of MlAs moving out of the party in search of greener pastures elsewhere and also rubbished the ground for shifting allegiance.

“If I am behaving like an autocrat then this autocrat should be left alone. I hope they do not meet autocrats wherever they have gone. They were wary that they may not get tickets from the party hence they left the party,” maintained Yadav.
