Basic computer lessons for JAC employees

The manual works of Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) headquarter at Namkom will soon be done through computers. Presently, employees of the Council are learning the basics of computer handling from Jharkhand Agency for Promotion of Information Technology (JAPIT) department.

Sources maintained around 200 personnel except the hundred peons of the Council are undergoing the training which commenced on March 16. “A group of 51 employees are being trained for a period of one week. A test will be organized at the end of the workshop after which JAPIT will award them a certificate for their successful performance. Similar, workshops are scheduled for remaining employees in the coming weeks,” a JAC staff said.

“This will certainly benefit us in turning tech savvy,” added the staff. Notably, introducing the concept of computerization work was among the 2015 New Year resolutions of Council Chairman Dr Anand Bhushan. Asked on implementation of the plan, Bhushan said he is yet to decide the date. “I cannot confirm that we will be in a position to start the computerization work by the next academic session,” he said.

The computerization format is likely to help in addressing the grievances of the students at a click. “All the departments like Examination and Chairman Cell will have the facility. The number of computers in each department will likely be decided by JAPIT once the training of employees is over,” sources said.

Similar computerization plan was thought by Former JAC Chairperson laxmi Singh in 2010. Reports mention that the plan was made for helping the students in accessing their corrected names, postal address and mark sheets. Singh had also wanted students to file their grievances through this online mode.
