Puja Dareepal, wife of Bhagwat Dareepal assistant branch manager in HDFC bank here in Daltonganj, was found hanging from a ceiling fan in her rented house in Nawa Toli on Wednesday morning. She was declared brought dead when brought to Sadar hospital here, said the officer in charge of Daltonganj police station SK Malviya.
Malviya said Puja’s landlord heard the incessant cries of her 18 months old daughter who then sent in a domestic aide to find out the reason behind baby’s incessant crying and mother Puja not doing any thing when this domestic aide came shouting of Puja hanging in air by her ceiling fan. Except for the 18 months old girl there was no other in the rented house of this HDFC bank official.
Police have found no suicidal note. Police are waiting for Puja’s parents who are coming over here from Dhanbad. No post mortem could be done on Puja on Wednesday as Malviya said, “We are waiting for her parents who have so lost their daughter”.
Asked if a delayed post mortem would not cause legal complication Malviya said, “A board of doctors would do it on Thursday since it is a case of death by hanging.” Police officer did not see any foul play except suicide.
Police are trying to find out if Puja did this when her husband was out for HDFC bank work or was she abetted to committed suicide by her husband in his presence with 18 month old girl who could be no any witness to this sordid end of a married life.
The HDFC assistant branch manager has not been quizzed so far conceded by the police officer Malviya.
