Since decades Kokar Durga puja pandal is grabbing the attention of visitors with unique design and presentation style. Every year, the Kokar puja pandal witnesses huge footfall from the city as well as from the adjoining areas. This year again Kokar Durga Puja pandal will mesmerise visitors with its vibrant and enormous presentation. The artisans are preparing an artistic temple with bamboo baskets and fiber.
To enchant the visitors with the interior and exterior beauty of pandal approximately 30 workers are working on the location for giving aesthetic touch to the pandal. Whereas few artisans were busy crafting designs on the bamboo baskets and on other decorative materials to be put up for the further enhancement of the pandal beauty. Three months back artisans have come from Chandanpur, West Bengal to give shape to the vision.
“In order to do something different every year, we come up with a distinctive idea and this year too we are preparing puja pandal with the use of bamboo baskets and fiber. Our budget is comparatively less this year as compare to other major pandals in the city,” informed the president of Kokar Durga Puja Samiti, Arup Chatterjee.
“Special attention is being given to decorate the interior of the pandal. The interior of the pandal will be decorated with lights and minuscule bamboo baskets to give ethnic look to the entire concept,” Chatterjee added.
As the puja pandal witnesses huge footfall every year, managing security is also a big challenge for the organizing committee members, citing details about the security, Chatterjee said, “We have planned to install 6 closed-circuit television cameras (CCTVs) to monitor the event and to keep an eye on the teeming crowd at the pandal. We will also depute are own security guards to keep a track of the event. Women security personnel’s will always be present in the pandal for assisting women and girls.”
“This year we are neither organizing mechanical/electrical show nor organising fair for the visitors. We have simplified our concept this year. However lighting effects will do enhance the theme and mesmerise the visitors,” Chatterjee further added.
