Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry has ordered to give permission to Ayush doctors for doing normal delivery. For this the Ayush doctors (Ayurvedic and Homeopathic) will be provided 21 days training on skill Birth Attendant and seven days training on Hands on practice.
Notably, there are as many as 142 ayush doctors in the state. They are appointed basically in rural and semi-rural areas. The basic idea behind this decision is to encourage normal delivery in interior areas and also contribute in bringing down the infant mortality rate.
