ATMs go empty in Bokaro Thermal

Published on:

For the last few months the hope of finding cash in all three ATMs of State Bank of India and one of Bank of India, Bokaro Thermal branch faded for the residents of the Thermal city and its surrounding areas.

Contributing to the woes of the public, ATMs at several parts of Bermo have become either non-functional or are running dry.

There were just four functioning ATMs of SBI and one at Bank of India in the heart of Bokaro Thermal. There is no cash to refill the machines in Bokaro Thermal. This problem has been going on for the past several months.

According to SBI, Bokaro thermal customers sometimes cash is being filled in ATM which is located inside the bank premises, someone who were not aware.

According to costumes this translated into a race from one ATM to another for peoples to find cash .

Coming two days Saturday and Sunday are holidays, the hope of finding cash in ATMs on above two days failed for most citizens, especially in festive season.

They will have to go in branches to withdrawal their money and one could do transaction ranging from Rs 10,000 at a time.

A customer Anup Akela said, “I visited all five ATMs in the stretch of road .

There is no cash, lastly I had visited the branch office and withdrawn small amounts of money on last Friday and I never thought in my dream, this will happen with me.”

Cashing in on the crisis, we have been fully dependant on the mercy of the local shopkeepers for our daily domestic need as I have less cash resulted how could have manage my house, said senior citizen of Bokaro Thermal.

However, bank manager of SBI, Bokaro thermal branch, Ravindra Verma said the reason for the shortage of cash was because the place has low currency reserves in comparison to others.

He also added that the issue will be resolved soon. This, however, has brought no end to the problems people are facing.
