Reports of befooling the innocent ATM-users come from every corner of the district. For last few days atleast 3-4 such cases have come from the ATM of main branch of Bank of India, Hazaribagh. Every time the victims reported, a youth was behind it.
Today PTC Inspector Gyanendra Kumar visited BOI ATM to withdraw some money. He processed at one machine but failed to withdraw the amount. A youth behind him offered to help him but he refused and shifted to another machine of that cabin. In the meantime the youth came on first machine.
From 2nd machine he withdrew Rs. 15000 and got the message of withdrawal on his mobile. When he came out, the youth shifted to second machine. Within two minutes he got another message of withdrawal of Rs. 10,000. He immediately turned and saw the boy coming out of ATM. He caught him.
The youth was identified as Uttam Kumar Singh, son of Sadan Kumar Singh of village Sadam of Ichak block. He accepted that he had actually fooled several customers of Bank of India. He said that the mastermind is Munna Singh of Aurangabad, Bihar.
