The third supplementary budget of the Jharkhand government worth Rs 2,698 crore was passed with voice vote in the Assembly, amidst BJP boycotting the house. Replying to cut-motion moved by Opposition benches, Finance Minister Rameshwar Oraon said that the third supplementary budget has been brought for the new scheme which is petrol subsidy to below poverty line (BPL) families.

The finance minister said that with the spike in petrol prices, the State Government has decided to give a subsidy of Rs 250 per month to BPL families.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren on the occasion of Republic Day had launched a petrol subsidy scheme under which Below Poverty Line (BPL) families will get a subsidy of Rs 25 per litre for up to 10 litres of petrol per month. At the supplementary budget a provision of Rs 100 crore has been made for petrol subsidy.

Also, a  provision of Rs 38 crores has been made in the supplementary budget for payment of honorarium to Poshan Sakhis.

While placing the cut motion in the house, BJP MLA Amar Kumar Bauri said that there is no justification for bringing a supplementary budget in the month of March. This government has been able to spend only 40 percent of the amount of the original budget and two supplementary budgets so far. By showing intensity in spending at the end of the financial year, the fabric of March loot is being woven.

At the same time, BJP MLA Manish Jaiswal also said that the government has been able to spend only 40 percent of the budget amount. Seeking supplementary budget to be spent in 28 days it shows government inaction in spending financial money.

Meanwhile, the budget for the financial year 2022-23 will be presented March 3. State Finance Minister Rameshwar Oraon will present the budget in the assembly. Sources said that this time the Hemant Soren’s budget will focus on poor and small farmers. In the budget, the poor and farmers are expected to get big relief.

At the same time, it is also being said that in this budget of the government, the focus will also be on education and health. There will be budgetary allocation to remove unemployment. The government will try to ensure that every section gets relief from the budget.

At the same time new schemes for the urban and rural poor will be announced in the budget. announcements can be made in the budget regarding Anganwadi centers, health sub-centres, schools and colleges. Announcements can also be made for road construction in rural areas. It is also being said that provision can be made by the government for the renovation of government schools in the budget.

However, it is being said that farmers are expected to get a lot of relief from the budget. Significantly, 9 lakh farmers of the state were to be included in the ambit of loan waiver. Of these, 5 lakh farmers were given relief in the last budget for loan waiver up to Rs 50,000. At the same time, it is expected that a provision of loan waiver up to 1 lakh can be made for four lakh farmers.
