The Steel City will play host the Art in Industry from February 18-21 at Centre for Excellence.

In its 23rd year in 2016, Tata Steel Art in Industry is hosting a total of 21 artists across a diverse section of the budding and eminent, contemporary and time-tested, from different regions of India.

Addressing the media Kulvin Suri, chief, corporate communications, Tata Steel said that the company is known for promoting art in its various forms. Art-in-Industry is a unique platform that connects eminent and emerging artists, youth, art connoisseur and society at large.

Suri went on to add that the art camp will not only witness the finest work of art from the eminent list of artists but will also offer a rare opportunity to the students from the city's art schools and institutions to showcase work to veterans of art at the workshops for art students.

Ruchi Narendran said that Tata Steel has always extended support towards promotion and preservation of India’s rich cultural heritage. The art camp will bolster confidence of a large pool of upcoming talent.

Narendran said, “The focus of the initiative is well-being of artists as much as art itself as an artist’s creativity has to be unfettered in order to grow and mature.” Senior artists Gouri Vemula, Vijay Saraf ‘Meenaghe', Suvra Chakraborty, Parul Mehra, Rani Rekha and Ajay Urveti are participating in the camp.
