Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs, Anurag Singh Thakur on Saturday said with the abolition of Article 370 and 35 (A) of the Constitution from Jammu & Kashmir, the State is going to witness development in all fronts.
The Hamirpur MP, who was in State Capital for participating at the seminar organised by Bhartiya Janta Yuva Morcha on the issue of abolition of article 370 and 35 (A) from J&K said, “Earlier, the development funds meant for Jammu & Kashmir was routed to the pockets of only two three families of valley, while the rest of population was left to abject poverty. But with the abolition of Article 370 and 35 (A), the people of valley will taste the fruits of development as the money will be used in infrastructure development of State.”
Thakur said the BJP founder Syama Prasad Mukherjee had given the slogan of 'Ek Desh Mein do vidhan/Ek Desh Mein do Nishan/Ek Desh Mein do Pradhan/Nahin Chalenge, Nahin Chalenge' and for this he had even sacrificed his life. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah by abolishing 370 and 35 (A) from J&K have fulfilled the dream of Dr Mookerjee,” Thakur added.
The BJP leader said his party always advocated that Kashmir is an integral part of India and will remain the part of country. He said, “Earlier the people in Kashmir were not getting reservation and this as an advantage Pakistan was to sponsor cross border terrorism in State. Pakistan used to lure people of Kashmir by money indulging them in stone pelting. But now with abolition of Article 370 and 35 (A), Kashmir will witness development. There will be peace, industries will set up in Kashmir, farmers will become prosperous.”
Earlier, the BJYM workers gave a rousing welcome to Thakur on his arrival to Birsa Munda International Airport. BJP leaders, including Rajya Sabha MP Mahesh Poddar, Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth, Khijri MLA Ram Kumar Pahan, BJYM former president Manoj Singh, BJP Ranchi Mahanagar president Manoj Mishra and others were present in welcoming Thakur.
Thakur, later in the day, also attended a function at Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries office. While speaking at chamber office he highlighted the various schemes of Modi Government for traders and tax collection. He said, “Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s idea of tax collection is transparent and hassle free. The ministry believes that as bee collects nectar without damaging the flower, the government too believes in collection of tax from traders without giving them any trouble.”
The chamber function was also attended by Rajya Sabha MP Mahesh Poddar where he called for transparency in tax collection.
