Around 26 lakh farmers from the State have received financial assistance to the tune of Rs 130 crore under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Rishi Yojana (PMKSRY)  during the lockdown period. The fact was disclosed by Union Minister of Agriculture Cooperative and Sugarcane Development, Narendra Singh Tomar to a query raised by BJP MP from Ranchi Sanjay Seth. Seth in the Lok Sabha raising the issue, sought information from the minister about the number of farmers who have benefited in Jharkhand under the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana and state-wise allocation of it.

The Ranchi MP also sought information related to the status of district-wise payments to farmers in Jharkhand under the scheme. The minister replying to the query made by Seth said that state-wise allocation has not been made but based on the letters received from the states and verified data of the beneficiaries, they have given benefit to farmers.

Tomar said that till February 4, 2021, around 25.69 lakh farmers in State have received financial benefit under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. Apart from this, more than Rs 200 crore has been paid so far under the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi in Jharkhand, out of which Rs 1,331,630,000 was paid to the farmers of Ranchi.

The minister stated that In the corona transition period, from March 2020 till now, an amount of Rs 879,862,000 has been transferred in farmers account in Ranchi while Rs 13,956,256,000 has been transferred to the farmers in entire Jharkhand.

Recently Parliamentary Affairs Minister has nominated Sanjay Seth, Member of Parliament from Ranchi as a member of the Regional Direct Taxes Advisory Committee.

Sanjay Seth the first time MP from Ranchi has been raising public issue in Lok Sabha has also met several ministers with the demands for up gradation of infrastructure in Ranchi. Recently, Seth met Union Road and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari with a demand for widening of road from Ratu Road to Nagababa Khatal.

MP Seth told the Union Minister that Ratu Road is a very densely populated area. This road connects Ranchi to many states and cities in the country via NH 75 and NH 23. In the past, NHAI had made plans for widening of road from Itki road to Nagababa Khatal (NH 23) and Pandara road to Nagababa Khatal (NH 75) but it was not completed.

In the proposed scheme, this road was built from Piska roundabout to Y Shape and the road was to be widened. But at present, the pressure of vehicles on Ratu Road is constantly increasing. Due to the narrow road the section witnesses regular traffic jams.
