Army Recruitment Rally (ARR) will start from Wednesday at Army Ground at Morhabadi in Ranchi. The Rally here will continue for 10 days from October 4 to October 14 for which 74,400 candidates have registered themselves through online registration out of which around 600-900 deserving candidates will get selected on merit.

Talking to the mediapersons at Mohabadi Football Stadium in Ranchi, DDG RTG (Zonal) of Bihar and Jharkhand Brigadier RS Athreye said Aadhaar number has been made mandatory for recruitment of jawans in the Indian Army this time, and will be verified when they come for physical test along with their admit cards during Army Recruitment Rally (ARR) in Ranchi.

The Brigadier also claimed that it had been the endeavour of the Indian Army to make more and more youths participate in the Rally from the distant, rural and Naxal affected areas for which the State Government also played an active role by inspiring the candidates residing in such areas.

“Though tribal intake in Army Recruitment in Ranchi last year was around 46 per cent, efforts are being made to motivate more and more youths living in tribal and left Wing Effected areas to join Army and improve their status in the society,” said Brigadier Athreye. Till date it has been observed that the tribal population living on the periphery of the State Capital are turning up for the rally and hence efforts were being made to motivate youths also from Western and Eastern parts of the State, he added.

He, however, admitted there has been decrease in registration of around 5000 candidates as compared to the last year possibly due to anti-tout measures taken like Adhaar made mandatory for Army Recruitment this time.

Besides, 12,000 other candidates from both Jharkhand and Bihar have also registered themselves for the post of Havildar (Education), tests for which will be conducted on first two days of Rally.

Run for the post of soldiers; however, will be conducted district wise on the remaining days for the candidates hailing from Jharkhand.

The rally will take place at Army Ground in spite of Football Stadium at Morhabadi while the entire process of recruitment will be completed in the next 6-8 months and the new recruits will be sent to the training camp by June next year.

The candidates have been advised to get their admit card printed from laser printer only from the website www.joinindianarmy.nic.in and bring original copies of the required documents along with their photocopies.

Athreye claimed that only deserving candidates will be selected as many checks and balances have been introduced for the selection process without having any scope of inducement or recommendation for getting selected for anyone.
