Arjun Munda plays host on Kali Puja

Former CM Arjun Munda on Thursday played a perfect host at the Maa Kali Puja celebrations at his residence in Ghodabandha. Maintaining more than 16-year-old tradition, the senior leader organised the puja and he distributed bhog to the devotees.

Chief Minister Raghubar Das, Assembly Speaker Dinesh Oraon, State labour Minister Raj Paliwal, along with senior corporate officials, participated in the event. On the occasion, Das extended his warm greetings to the people of Jharkhand on the occasion of Kali Puja and Chhath. Both Munda and Das attracted the attention of shutterbugs but both the leaders refrained to speak on any political matter.

Since early morning, party leaders, corporate honchos and well wishers poured into the former Chief Minister’s residence where Kali Puja is celebrated in a big way traditionally.

Munda, every year, organises the puja at his paternal house in Jamshedpur to seek the blessing of the Goddess. Kali Puja is an annual affair organised by the Mundas for over 16 years from now, with mother Saira and brother Bhim Singh also taking active interest in the proceedings.

Wearing traditional kurta and pyjama, Munda mingled with his guests, exchanging pleasantries with all, laughing over shared jokes. The supporters also took selfies with him. Then the former CM took upon the task of serving bhog, treating his guests with generous helpings of kheer, khichdi and begun bhaja. The menu also included mixed vegetables and chutney.
