The district administration led by the authorities of Mango Notified Area Committee (MNAC) launched a drive against encroachment at Dimna Road and Payal Talkies road.

After removing illegal constructions, the administration has embarked on a drive to take any action against illegal heaps of building materials lying unattended at various roads.

The officials have padded up against squatters encroaching roadside areas including main roads with cement, sand, bricks, iron rods and construction machinery.

The administration pressed in JCBs and dumpers to ensure that the road side dumped materials are removed.

“ We have been receiving several complaints of constructional materials being dumped on roads that leads to traffic congestion. We have launched a drive to remove the hurdles,” said Sushil Kumar, special officer, MNAC.

"Prior to this, drive was only against illegal shades, extension of shops, stairs and signboards but now encroachers who piled up building construction material on half stretch of roads would be taken to task," he added.

Another official of MNAC said that a large number of reports have been received that roads were fast becoming dumping places for building construction material due to which road passage had been squeezed causing a great difficulty to vehicular traffic to pass through.
