Just after three days of shameful incident of gang-rape of a class XI student another rape case has been registered in the district and this time the victim is a student of class VIII. The case has been lodged at Ichak police station and accused Sahjad who is a resident of Barkagaon is absconding.
As per the FIR report Sahjad, who is a mason by profession, was involved in a building construction work along with his brother in law Akhtar at Ichak. The victim’s house is behind the construction site. On Saturday noon when the victim was alone in her house, Sahjad forcibly entered and raped her. When her mother came in the evening, the victim informed her about the incident. Her mother informed her father who is working in Kashmir. On Sunday the victim’s mother contacted local leaders Bateshwar Prasad Mehta, Ashok Kapardar and others and they all went to the police station and FIR was lodged.
On Monday the victim was brought to Hazaribagh for medical examination. The Ichak police are making continuous raids on the hideouts of accused Sahjad but he is still absconding. Sources from Ichak informed on Monday that efforts are on to solve the matter at community level. As per sources, the family members of the victim have almost agreed to withdraw the case if the accused marries her. Some eminent personalities of the community are trying to arrange the marriage by Tuesday night.
