After the brutal gang rape in Hazaribagh, various social activists and women welfare organisations came out of anger and protested in front of SP & DSP office.
Protest had a clear agenda of stopping such crime and arrest of the remaining accused of the gang-rape. Victim’s statement has been registered under Section 164 of IPC in front of the Judicial Magistrate. Police force has been continuously on raids and searching for the accused.
In the morning, various activists and common people came on streets to protest which led to a protest-cum-rally in different parts of the city against this heinous crime and demanded the harshest punishment for all the accused involved. They ended their protest at SP office and criticized the failure of police against the safety of women in the district.
On Friday, taking the investigation into next level, Sadar DSP Arvind Singh along with Sadar officer-in charge Dinesh Kumar Singh visited the deserted bungalow where the crime took place. Their observation revealed a shocking fact that despite the bungalow looking secluded from outside; it has all the modern amenities inside. liquor bottles, snacks, multiple beds and beddings were found in the bungalow which has forced the policemen to think whether this place has been used in the past as well for other criminal activities.
The Superintendent of Police, Manoj Kaushik, said the statement of the victim has been lodged in front of Judicial Magistrate and both the arrested accused has been sent to Central Jail. “Accused has accepted their involvement in the said case and has also disclosed the identity of the other people involved in the same “Kaushik said.
Kaushik also said “We have decided on a deadline of three days for ourselves to search and arrest the remaining accused, failing to which their properties would be seized and more strict action would follow”. Sources confirmed that the victim had been continuously harassed and eve teased in the past but no action was taken by the police. Also, continuous increase in eve teasing cases and no police action have resulted into loss of faith in police. It was also confirmed that the accused were following the girl for past two months and have also asked for her mobile number multiple times.
Now the political parties have also entered into this matter and they too have started demanding justice for the victim. In the evening the local unit of BJP burnt the effigy of CM Hemant Soren charging deteriorating law and order condition in the State.
