Angry citizens of Hazaribagh came out on the streets to demand strong action against the accused of sexual abuse of a two and half-year-old girl child. The accused is in police custody and people were demanding capital punishment for him. The social organizations of Hazaribagh have also made an appeal to the advocates to not take up his case.
Earlier, the mother of the victim had caught her tenant sexually harassing her minor daughter two days back in Hasmiya Colony of Pugmil MuhallaShe had reached her house after hearing the girl’s shout and caught the culprit red-handed and handed over to the police.
Badly injured with the thrashing of people, accused Md. Kalam alias Pintu was first admitted to Sadar Hospital and then sent to jail. An FIR has been lodged and now the investigation is on. The mother of victim informed that the accused was a new tenant of her house and within a week he had developed a good friendship with her little daughter.
As soon as the news came into light, different social and political organisations came forward and on Sunday, took out protest rallies and criticized this brutal incident. A massive rally was organised by AIDSO A meeting of AIMSS was organised under the chairmanship of Nirmala Sharma.
Through these rallies and meetings, the denizens of Hazaribagh have demanded four things from the administration. The first demand is to hang the culprit, the second demand is actually an appeal to the advocates to not take up his case, the third one is to constitute a controlling body in which representatives of all the important sections of the society should be included and the last one is to ban such cinemas and magazines which are supposed to fuel this type of evils.
