Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has termed the "Akrosh Pradarshan" done by BJP in the blocks of Jharkhand as a political drama. JMM General Secretary Vinod Pandey said that this demonstration was neither for the public nor does it have anything to do with public interest, rather it is a symbol of BJP's frustration and panic.
Pandey said that BJP is upset that the tribal-indigenous government under the leadership of Chief Minister Hemant Soren is working for every section including the poor, farmers, youth and women. The questions on which BJP is protesting are the same issues which BJP had completely ignored during its rule.
He said that it is ridiculous for BJP to speak on topics like Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, sand policy, employment, education and health, because during their rule sand mafia was most active, schemes were stalled, health system had collapsed and youth were given only slogans in the name of employment. Due to these very acts, the people of the state ousted the BJP from power and created history by handing over the reins of power to Hemant Soren for the second time in a row by giving him an overwhelming majority.
Targeting former Chief Minister and BJP State President Babulal Marandi, Pandey said that despite being the Chief Minister at one time, Marandi is ignoring the ground reality of Jharkhand. The issues on which he is raising questions today, the same problems had their roots in the BJP rule.
He also said that the BJP's protest can be a part of democracy, but it should have honesty of truth and intention. This protest is just an exercise to grab media headlines and mislead the people.
Pandey said that the Hemant government is committed to bringing the schemes on the ground. Many historic steps have been taken like the implementation of PESA law, planning policy based on locality, women empowerment, Mainiya Samman and improvement in the education system, due to which the BJP is scared.
He said that the public has understood the intentions and politics of the BJP very well. Attempts to derail the development agenda and spread rumours will not work now. The people of Jharkhand are with the government, and are giving a befitting reply to the BJP on every platform – and will do so in the upcoming elections too.
