A heartbreaking road accident on the Novamundi-Jagannathpur main road claimed the life of an Anganwadi worker, leaving two others injured.
The unfortunate incident occurred late Saturday night when a family was en route from Novamundi to Lakhan Sai on their motorcycle. The rider, transporting his parents to their home in Hatnabeda, faced an unexpected obstacle as a dog suddenly darted across their path. The abrupt maneuver to avoid the animal resulted in the motorcycle losing control, causing the father and son to be thrown a distance away.
Tragically, the mother, identified as Pramila Devi, succumbed to her injuries in the accident. The father and son sustained partial injuries and were immediately attended to.
Anand Gope, Block President of the Unorganized Congress Workers’ Union, expressed condolences and shared details about the incident, which unfolded near Akhtar Dhaba on the main road to Jagannathpur.
Emergency services swiftly responded, and an ambulance transported Pramila Devi to Tata Steel Hospital in Novamundi. Despite the efforts of medical professionals, her injuries, particularly severe head trauma, proved fatal.
