Countdown has begun for the much awaited biographical movie release on India’s most successful ODI skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni aka ‘Mahi’. The journey from rags to riches, the untold story of a small town lad under whose captainship India lifted World Cup after a gap of 28 years beating Sri-lanka in 2011 will hit the theatres nationwide on September 30.

This biopic based on MSD life has given the denizens of Ranchi several reasons to rejoice especially to those schools kids who are studying at Jawahar Vidya Mandir (JVM), Shyamali as ‘Captain Cool’ is an alma mater of this prestigious cradle. The institution upholds a significant place as Dhoni had begun his journey filled with passion from here.

looking at the eagerness of the students, school administration recently has contacted MS Dhoni to bear the movie tickets expense of approximately 5,000 school students. However, the school management has not yet received any response from MS Dhoni till date. Notably, the school administration had earlier decided to reserve all the multiplexes of the city on the release day for the premiere exclusively for the JVM students.

“We have written to MS Dhoni to bear the cost of movie tickets few days back and are waiting for his response. A person of this institution is continuously trying to contact Dhoni. As per the calculation, approximately Rs 4 lakh will be spent on purchasing movie tickets for 5,000 students. There is no alternative, else all the students will have to bear the cost of tickets individually as the school management does not have arrangement for any such funds to meet this specific expenses,” said, JVM Shyamali, Principal, AK Singh.

Previously, the school management has decided to premiere the feature film on the school campus premises but the movie distributers had not agreed upon this idea.

“To assemble all the students of the schools at one place, the school administration had requested the film distributers to showcase the movie on campus premises through projector but the distributors have disapproved the proposal as it is not in their business norms. We are trying to approach 3-4 multiplexes officials to accommodate the school students but so far nothing has been finalised. A committee too has been constituted and all major decisions will be taken after September 15 on the matter,” added, Singh.
