Akshaya Tritiya or Akha Teej is a very auspicious day it is said that every minute of this day is favourable and there is no need for mahurats for any form of work be it to begin a new venture or for making any purchase or for tying the knot.
Buying gold is a popular activity on Akshaya Tritiya. The jewellery shops of Ranchi market are flooded with customers as there is a belief among Indians that purchasing gold or other valuable on this day brings wealth and harmony back home. This year the sale of gold and jewellery has increased on Akshaya Tritiya as the price has fallen down. last year its price was Rs 28382 per 10 gm and this year it is Rs 2622 per 10 gm.
Owner of a jewellery shop at Roshpa tower Ranchi, Nihal kumar said, “ From last few weeks there is a continuous downfall in gold price as a result of which customers interest has increased a lot for demand of gold and jewellery the current price is Rs 2622 carat per 10 gram and on occasion of Akshaya Tritiya a there is a good sale of gold and jewellery”.
Anamika Sengupta, a customer at Abhushan jewellery at main road Ranchi said, “I have come to purchase gold coins for this Akshaya Tritiya as it is believed that purchasing gold on this day brings wealth, prosperity and harmony to home every year on this day I purchase gold”.
This day is also considered as the most suitable time for marriages so many banquet and marriage halls and dharamshalas are occupied on this day.
