loyola School, Jamshedpur runs only one section of pure science in class 12. This section consists of 50 students . Out of these 50 students,  seven students have cleared the JEE advanced examination of 2015 for admission to various IITs in the country. The students are Siddharth Singh(Rank 3060) Tarun Sharma  (Rank 3603) Awushik Nigam, Abhinav Kumar, Ritesh Raj, Utsav Mazumder and Nabeel Tauheed.

One of the significant reasons for IITs being institutions of excellence is the fact that they are able to attract the best and the brightest. Another factor of equal importance is their ability to attract outstanding faculty. If the quality of students suffer as a result of admitting as much as 50 percent under the quota system, the general standard of students will come down and so the quality of faculty too. Then those institutions slowly will be no different from most of the educational institutions we have in the country today," said another student who qualified from Prerna Classes.

It may be mentioned here that the city has a fair track record of IIT. Every year more than 100 students crack the IIT entrance examination, which is considered to be toughest in the country. Moreover, Abhinav Kumar of loyola School secured 1st All India rank during the 1996-1997.
