AJSU yet to decide on two Assembly seats

Amid all round protests from the dissatisfied party workers seeking tickets for contesting Assembly elections starting on November 25, the AJSU parliamentary board meeting was postponed for the fourth consecutive day on Tuesday to be held on Wednesday.

According to the party insiders, the parliamentary board will sit together after pacifying the dissatisfied party workers and leaders who could not be given tickets due to the understanding of seat sharing the party has entered with the BJP in the State.

“Our central president has arrived from Delhi only yesterday following which a meeting of the in charge of various districts took place where they expressed their dissatisfaction regarding the issues which is being taken up by us leading to the delay in the parliamentary board meeting,” said party spokesperson Deosharan Bhagat. Meeting will be held soon after the issues raised by the workers are properly taken care of, added Bhagat.

Sources in the party however, said that the reason behind not holding the parliamentary board meeting was non-consensus among the party cadres regarding the two seats from AJSU quota released by the BJP other than those announced earlier by the senior party leaders in Delhi.

Two out of eight seats to be contested by AJSU in Jharkhand have not yet been finalised, he said. “The party however, is likely to field candidates from Gomia and Tamar; prominent names for these seats are Yogendra Mahto and Vikas Munda respectively, said a senior party leader requesting anonymity. Bhagat further added that the alliance recently formed with the BJP in New Delhi will pave way for a stable Government in the state.
