AJSU wants Govt to form coordination committee

Even as the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) looked to steal the show in the House on the issue of State civil services examination conducted by Jharkhand State Public Service Commission (JPSC), alliance partner AJSU party has pulled up socks to claim a fair share of the people’s sentiment on the emotional issue of allowing opportunity to the ‘son of the soil’ in elite Government jobs.

The AJSU party on Saturday pressed for a platform to put its views on issues of public importance and asked for a coordination committee to present a unanimous view on such matters. The coalition partner of the BJP-led Government expressed inconvenience in putting up their stand in the absence of a common platform that brings Government and the coalition partners closer outside the Jharkhand Assembly.

“Where we should go to present our stand as there is no such platform. We, therefore, request a coordination committee where we can put our voices,” said Vice-chairman of central committee, Hasan Ansari.

As the JPSC row turned into a battle between the greatest claimant of protector of indigenous Jharkhandi’s rights, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, and the BJP, the AJSU party decided to hit streets to become part of the JPSC quagmire which has become a political hot potato for the saffron party. Notwithstanding its demand for a committee, the AJSU party toned down the request and stood shoulder to shoulder with the BJP on JPSC controversy. The BJP’s ally opened a front against the JMM and asked it to repent for overlooking interests of people when it was at the helm.

“They allowed outsiders into Jharkhand and now they are shedding crocodile tears over the JPSC results. It is they who compromised the interest of the youths. So, they must go to public and repent for their actions,” said party spokesperson Deosharan Bhagat.

The coalition partner of the Government condemned the JMM for stalling proceedings of the House and boycotting the all party committee made to resolve alleged discrepancies in the JPSC examination for state civil services.
