This is a continuous ongoing process for the betterment of people,” he said. “I will soon be launching a total literacy programme for attaining 100 per cent literacy in my constituency which will work in a mission mode,” he added. According to Sudesh, this is a highly ambitious mission for the party to fulfill the gap between literates and illiterates in the constituency.

literate persons of the constituency as well as retired teachers will be involved in this mission. “As we are concerned about the gender issues, one male and a female representative from a village will be chosen for the mission who will help us in attaining the goal,”

The former deputy Chief Minister said that a baseline survey is being done by the party workers in the constituency on the basis of which a data will be prepared and target groups will be identified. “After a few round of meetings, mission will be visible on the ground very soon,” said Sudesh. This is an initiative by the party to fill up the gap between the illiterate and literates, he said.

On the issue of distributing laptops and tablets among the meritorious students of his constituency, he said, “These gadgets are the need of the hour and we are trying to provide all facilities to those who really want to move on with the time.” This is an initiative to keep students of rural areas updated, he added. Similarly, AJSU party had earlier started healthcare facilities for the people in Silli. “We launched round the clock ambulance service for Silli under the banner ‘Jeevan Mitra’ under which GPRS enabled ambulance service will be available on his doorstep within 10 minutes after he makes a call,” he said.

A total of 14 ambulances were launched under the programme by Sudesh in July this year.
