Continuing its principal poll plank of Special Status for Jharkhand, the AJSU on Saturday released its manifesto for the General Elections giving thrust to women empowerment, child development, youth employment and security for all.
Releasing the party manifesto AJSU chief Sudesh Mahto, who is contesting the poll for the first time from Ranchi constituency, said that the party has worked towards making the issue of Special Status a public agenda. The party has raised the people’s voice on the streets and now it is ready to rock the parliament with the Special Status demand, he said.
“The party in his manifesto has highlighted all the burning problems of the State which need to be addressed at earliest. The party had always fought for the welfare of the people and will continue it. The sport university proposal which is in a shambles will be boost up if the party attains victory in the general election,” Mahto said.
Elaborating his vision to develop Ranchi as an international city Mahto said that it was necessary all the villages adjoining the State Capital into model habitat. These villages would require all the basic amenities for development of the capital into a modern city, he said.
The election manifesto promises to lay emphasis on the development of basic infrastructure facilities. Party has reminded that it always worked for infrastructure development and will keep on doing it if its candidates are elected to represent people in the lok Sabha.
“We have taken a vow that enough employment opportunities will be created to maintain harmony and peace in the society and this will also curb extremism. Our mission is to prepare a environment where 50 lakh new jobs are created. No one took such initiative before and this resulted into unemployment and extremism,” said the party chief.
The manifesto claims that state would benefit only when the industrial development rate goes over 15 per cent per annum. AJSU is committed to remove obstacles in the way of setting up of new industries and solving problems of the established ones in Jharkhand, it further states.
The poll promises of the party also included preparing a roadmap for infrastructure development in both urban and rural areas, improving health and sanitation facilities across the state, making irrigation facilities available for water starved farmers, electrification of villages, construction of roads, setting up new educational institutions among others.
