AJSU party chief and former deputy Chief Minister Sudesh Mahto on the occasion of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi started Swaraj Swabhiman Janadesh Yatra from Arki of Tamar Assembly segment. The yatra which kick started from Arki Project Girls High School, Sudesh said, “The values and ideals of Mahatma Gandhi are still relevant.
The main aim of the yatra is to spread the message of Gandhi jee among common masses.” Mahto further said, “Through this yatra, my motto is that the government reaches to people door step.”
Prior to addressing a public meeting at Arki, the former deputy chief minister took out a padyatra from Baruhatu More to Arki school. At Baruhatu More, Sudesh said that his politics main principles is Swaraj (self rule) and Swabhiman (self respect).
He said, “The main aim of Swaraj yatra is that the voice of village reaches to Government’s ears so that they get their self rule and self respect.”
The AJSU party Swaraj Swabhiman yatra was held at other parts of state including with Giridih MP Chandraprakash Choudhary participating at Swaraj Swambhiman yatra at Ramgarh and Mandu.
The Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (P) also celebrated the Gandhi Jayanti. JVM chief and former chief minister Babulal Marandi on the occasion visited Khadi Tiril Ashram where he paid tributes to Bapu and also attended a prayer meeting. On the occasion, Marandi said, “Gandhi’s words are much relevant today. But it is sad that some forces in country are working against Gandhian values. Gandhi ideals and values are immortal and no one can erase his ideals.”
He also said that if country in true sense follows the ideas of Bapu than the coutry can get rid of poverty and hunger. On this occasion large number of JVM workers participated. Later, the JVM chief also paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi at his statue near Morhabadi ground. Gandhi Jayanti was also celebrated by Jan Shikshan Sansthan and Vikas Bharti Bishanpur.
The organization on the occasion organized a marathon from Sainik Market to Gandhi statue at Morhabadi for girls category, while for boys the marathon was organized from Boreya to Gandhi’s statue. The winners in the marathon where also awarded by VIkas Bharti.
The Ranchi Railway division celebrated the Gandhi Jayanti by carrying out cleanness drive. The cleanness drive was launched at Ranchi Railway station which was attended by Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth and Ranchi Railway DRM Niraj Ambastha.
The Jharkhand State Khadi and Village Industries Board celebrated Gandhi Jaynati by distributing sewing machine. 218 beneficiaries were provided with sewing machine so that they can earn their livelihood.
