The Yatra will be conducted in 16 districts of Jharkhand across 16areas namely Ranchi, East Singhbhumii, Bokaro, Dhanbad, Giridih, Deoghar, Dumka, Sahibganj, Koderma, Chatra, Hazarebhag, Ramghar, latehar, Palanu, Gharwa and lohardaga. Youth across 16 districts will be mobilized during the 16 day long initiative.
This is a nationwide initiative wherein the AISECT- NSDC Kaushal Vikas Yatra 2015 will be conducted across 270 districts in 16 States.
Nearly 450 locations across the country will be covered and over 30,000 students will be mobilised about the Government’s Skill India Mission, AISECT’s various offerings in the skill development space and the need for skilling the youth of the country for the economic growth of the nation.
The launch of the AISECT-NSDC Kaushal Vikas Yatra 2015 coincided with the launch of AISECT Awaaz, the organization’s newsletter which highlights the key initiatives that are being taken by AISECT in the skills-and ICT based vocational education space as well as on various other platforms including higher education, financial inclusion, rural job placements, etc.
According to Santosh Kumar Choubey(Chairman & Managing Director, AISECT), “AISECT has been executing similar yatras since a number of years and the initiative has taken a massive nationwide avatar since the last 4 years. Skill India Mission is an important and a laudable initiative of the Government and as an organization which has been working in this space since the last three decades, we would like to create as much awareness about this initiative at the grassroots level areas as possible. In future, more such expeditions with greater intensity will be conducted for enhancing the present skill scenario of India.”
AISECT is an NSDC partner wherein the organization has a mandate of providing skills-based education to over 1.3 million people within the next 10 years. Under this partnership, around 100 ICT-based diploma and certificate programmes have been introduced at over 20,000 AISECT Centres nationally. Creating awareness about the importance of skills in enhancing the job prospects of the youth is an important aspect of the partnership because only once people are aware of the need for skilling will they enroll for skill enhancement programmes.
Besides Jharkhand, the AISECT-NSDC Kaushal Vikas Yatra2015 will be conducted in Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Odisha, Bihar, West Bengal and Sikkim.
A panel of experts who are a part of the convoy will also throw light on AISECT’s various endeavors in the skill development space including the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna (PMKVY), Digital literacy Mission, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan etc.
