AICP adopts ISR concept to help society

Published on:

Close to the tune of most advocated CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) the less heard ISR (Dimensions of Institutional Social Responsibility) finds space as central theme in AICP (All India College Principals) at Amritsar where Dr Ali Imam Khan, principal of JJ College Jhumri Telaiya, actively participated to ensure crystallisation of the concept.

While talking to The Pioneer Khan commented that the topics included Ethical Identity of an Institution and Inculcating Moral Values through Education and such least discussed topics were dealt at length to explore as to what the head of an institution can do through his organisation to leave a genuine impact on the society. Elaborating further upon the nuances of the discussion he said that the principals are supposed to ensure more of the involvement of all stakeholders, classrooms are supposed to be extended to fields and to society at large.

The parameters of measurement as to where an institution stands on ISR scale was quite a new and interesting thing to learn for Dr. Khan and he seemed to be eager to his own institution to test on the parameter. JJ College has recently completed 53 years of functioning as the oldest institution for higher education offering as an institution of repute which has organised youth festival twice with all glitterati to the delight of students.
