The Government in association with NCDEX e-market limited (National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange limited) would prepare a roadmap for the purpose of making available responsive market to farmers of the State. A meeting in this regard took place on Friday between Chief Secretary Rajiv Gauba and president of NCDEX e-market limited R Ramasheshan.
In the meeting, the Chief Secretary said the step is required to make available proper price of farm produces to the farmers by providing larger marketing platform and instructed officials of Agriculture and Forest Departments to initiate an action plan for the purpose.
“Farm and forest produces of the State are limiting to local market only and not getting bigger market at national level. This is preventing the farmers from getting proper price of their produces. With NCDEX e- market platform national level market can be provided that will benefit the farmers directly,” said the Chief Secretary.
Ramasheshan said that the e-market platform presents a huge range of farm, metal and valuable produces and bring purchasers and seller together. The platform is working successfully at Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh and some other States.
Planning Secretary AK Singh, Food and Civil Supply Secretary DK Tiwari and Agriculture Secretary Nitin Madan Kulkarni were present in the meeting.
