In a bid to provide all programmes of the department for the beneficiaries at their doorstep and to inform them about forthcoming ones, the Department of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Co-operatives is organising a campaign named Prakhand Krishi Jagriti Abhiyan during June 12-20 in all the districts of State.
Agriculture Director Rajiv Kumar said on Friday that the campaign will be formally launched during Kisan Mela-cum-Krishi Jagriti Abhiyan by Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Saturday, who will also distribute Soil Health Card among many other things during the programme.
“Jharkhand Agriculture Reforms Initiatives and Technical Inputs (JAGRITI) is a basket of initiatives that are to be taken to take programmes for farmers at their doorsteps during June 12-20.
CM will distribute joining letter to banking correspondents, agriculture insurance claims, Point of Sale (PoS) machines, licenses to lAMPS/PACS for fertilizer selling in retail and wholesale, and seeds among many other things,” said Kumar where senior officials of the department were also present.
Kumar said that Kisan mela-cum-Krishi Jagriti Abhiyan to be organised on Saturday at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Dhurwa will have stalls of all the stakeholders under department including agriculture, fisheries, dairy, animal husbandry, horticulture, co-operatives and others. “The programme will have participation of around 20,000 farmers, who will be given a mango sapling and half a kg packet of Tuar pulse seeds each,” said Kumar.
Similar three-day programmes of respective stature would be replicated in every block in State during June 12-20 in which farmers would be informed about programmes by vertical departments under agriculture and animal husbandry.
The department has assigned 24 senior officials of the government including Agriculture Secretary Pooja Singhal, Training and Skill Development Department Secretary Amitabh Kaushal, Home, Jail and Disaster Management Department Special Secretaries Jatashanker Chowdhary and Bhagwan Das, Welfare department Department Diretor Chhavi Ranjan, who will take care of districts assigned to them for organising Kisan Mela-cum-Krishi Jagriti Abhiyan at local level during the period.
