A contingent of 100 plus Sewadars to Deoghar Shravani Mela has been dispatched by a famous Permode Agrawal and Kanchan Agrawal family here in Daltonganj today.
The sanctity and grandeur of the dispatch of the Sewadars could be judged by the fact that there were present MP Vishnu Dayal Ram, former minister K N Tripathy, former speaker Inder Singh Namdhari, district president of the BJP Vijayanand Pathak, JMM leader Avinash Dev and other big names of the politics and the society. Women and children were also in good numbers.
The atmosphere was of religious joy and fervour. Religious songs were played with full volume on this occasion.
Kanchan Agrawal said "Permode Agrawal and we do this every year where our contingent holds camp at the Shravani Mela Deoghar from beginning to end and there our men serve the Kawarnyas with big heart and open hands."
On being asked as to how and who meets the entire expenditures from here to Deoghar and back and month long stay there to which Kanchan Agrawal said "Permode Agrawal does this. This is done in memoriam of late Mata Hiramani Devi. The Sewadars get accommodation, food medicine and all other expenses from Permode Agrawal."
The Sewadars go there leaving their families behind to which Kanchan Agrawal said "No, no. Families do go with them. We take every care of them."
Sources said this Permode Agrawal Kanchan Agrawal family here in Daltonganj is famous for the services for the Kawarnyas. This practice is on over the last 22 years or so.
As there was a good crowd of commoners also watching the send off ceremony of the contingent of the Kawarnyas, traffic incharge Ramjeet Singh and his team was regulating the traffic.
