A major scandal has rocked the railway office in Banshidhar Nagar, Garhwa district. Reports indicate that a staggering Rs. 16,12,267 is missing from ticket sales at Nagar Untari railway station, representing a shortfall of Rs. 2 crore. A case has been filed alleging that this money was stolen in 2023.

The scandal implicates Writer Safeguard Limited (WSG), the agency responsible for transferring funds from the station to the bank. Accusations centre on WSG employees, known as 'bikers'. Two employees, Ajay Kumar Gupta and Premchand Prajapati, are accused of pilfering the money. These claims emerged following a meticulous review of the railway's bank statements.

Railway authorities acted swiftly upon discovering this significant breach. Following directives from senior railway officials, Station Manager Santosh Kumar filed a formal complaint at the Nagar Untari police station against the bikers, Ajay Kumar Gupta and Premchandra Prajapati, for misappropriating funds. Both individuals, reportedly residents of Konmandra village in the Bhawanathpur police station area, are currently on the run..

Garhwa SP Deepak Kumar Pandey confirmed that a case has been registered based on the station manager's complaint, and a thorough investigation has commenced. He noted that the case dates back three years and has been registered under IPC sections of 420, 471, and other applicable provisions.
